Seeing the acute need, in 2018, Hope Mission set out to help this Ugandan community by building a hospital that would enable proper medical care. In 2023, we managed to open the first ward of the hospital – the dental office – which became a grate blessing for the those in need.
There is an amazing grace in being able to benefit from free treatments.
Lack of medical services is a very big problem in Uganda. There is limited access to basic medical services, with only a few hospitals that are far from many of the communities and in very poor state. Under these conditions, the most common diseases or conditions that are easy to treat for us, can be fatal for them.
The people from Rubuguri can’t afford proper medicine, and even if they could, they can’t find what they need in the Ugandan pharmacies. After receiving a prescription from the doctors, they come to our clinic where our nurse gives them the necessary medication. Others come with various wounds, infections or burns and are bandaged and cared for.
The Hope Mission Clinic is a project that’s still in progress of being developed.
In the future, we would like to open all the medical departments and provide a deeper level of care for the patients. Our grates needs now are funds for paying the dentist’s and nurse’s salaries, funds for the supplies and medications and funds for equipping and opening the other departments.
